What’s a gal to do when she’s got less than 48 hours before boarding a flight to Hawaii, a massive pile of work on her desk and ungodly feet beneath her? Get the ol’ tootsie treatment and write about it of course! And with no reservations, that’s exactly what brought this blogger to a relaxing chair at White Daisy Nail Spa in the past 15 minutes.
With nearly a dozen nail salons to choose from in West Portal (aka “Acetone Alley” if you really want to be obnoxious about it), how can I possibly tout White Daisy over the rest? Well, truth be told, it’s been years since I’ve visited the others, but that’s because White Daisy is the humble hidden gem that’s always humming with visitors, but never too busy for a drop in.
OK, now when it comes to pedicures, I’m no frequent flier so my needs are not exactly nuanced. I like White Daisy because the air smells fresh (as in there is plenty of ventilation and no chemical aroma), they wrap your neck with a warm pillow, the service is friendly and efficient and they have an endless supply of jelly beans. As if the warm cup of tea wasn’t enough? Oh, and the killer leg massage they throw into the mix is well worth the trip on its own.
Open 7 days a week, White Daisy is my go to for a mani pedi, but that’s not where their services end. Facials, waxing and aromatherapy fall into their wheelhouse. Tranquil, clean and priced right, White Daisy is always a great pick.
